Windows 8: Windows 8 Authentication

Windows 8 Authentication Online (via Internet)

Step 1: 
 Connect your PC to the internet.  

Step 2: 
 Click ‘Go to PC settings’ button when an authentication dialog box appears.

Step 3:
 Open ‘Activate Windows’, and click 'Activate' button.

Step 4:

 An authentication dialog box will appear to go through the activation process.
 

Windows 8 Authentication by Telephone

Step 1: 
 Click ‘Go to PC settings’ button when an authentication dialog box appears.

Step 2: 
 Open ‘Activate Windows’, and click ‘Activate by phone’ button.

Step 3: 

‘Find available phone numbers for activation.’ When this dialog box appears,

select the location, and click 'Next'.

Step 4: 

As the activation screen shows up, call one of the MS phone numbers,

either paid or free, and follow the telephone prompts (step 1).

Step 5: 

Based on the phone number in step 2, proceed with ‘Enter the installation

ID provided by the phone call’ in step 3.

Step 6: 
 Click ‘Activate’ button to complete the authentication process.
 

Windows Authentication Testing

Step 1: 
 On the Windows 8 Start Screen, click with right mouse button on empty space.

Step 2:.
 Choose 'All Apps' in the bottom right corner of the screen.

Step 3: 
 Click 'Control Panel' in the 'Windows System' folder.

Step 4: 
 Click 'System and Security' > 'Action Center'.

Step 5: 
 Click 'Security' tab.

Step 6:

 Open ‘Windows Activation’ to find a message, 'Windows is activated'.
